THE 411

Jesse Soffer's career began with a Kix cereal commercial at age 6; he had played Bobby in the two BRADY BUNCH movies and co-starred with everyone from Susan Sarandon to the Olsen twins by the time he was 15, when he took the role of GL's Max. But after four months in Springfield, he abruptly departed, having decided to give it all up and focus on his neglected education. To that end, he sent himself to The Gunnery boarding school in Connecticut. It was just the kind of discipline and structure he needed, and after the "best four years of [my] life," Soffer graduated as a completely different person from the "rambunctious" child actor he was in those early years, though he still yearned to pursue acting. After a year of auditioning with no results, Soffer figured it wasn't in the cards and made plans to go to college. That's when he landed the role of ATWT's aged Will Munson, the troubled youth who was about to be sprung from the psych ward. After just two months on the show, Soffer was nominated for an Outstanding Teen Soap Opera Digest Award. The Connecticut-raised actor has three half sisters and a half brother. He lives in New York City.

"I was an annoying young person. But I kind of woke up and realized that school was really important to me and I wasn't doing well while I was at GUIDING LIGHT, so I left and enrolled in boarding school. My parents weren't involved with it. It was my own choice...." — Soap Opera Digest, 4/19/05

"I was actually talking with Martha Byrne [Lily].... We were thinking that Will and Lily should have an affair. It would be good for his psyche." — on who he'd like to work with more often, Digest, 7/5/05
