The 411
Alexa Havins joined the cast of ALL MY CHILDREN in October of 2003 when the feisty Babe Carey made her Pine Valley entrance. Havins was born in New Mexico but grew up in Arizona and is extremely close with her family. She made her debut on the stage at a young age, but it wasn't in the form of acting — it was dancing. The acting bug bit later and Havins spent time both in New York City and Los Angeles studying the craft and working on films and TV guest appearances.
With relocation from the West Coast to New York came the role at AMC, where Havins would not only excel in her acting career but find love as well. Her work in the 2004 Baby Storyline earned Havins an Outstanding Younger Lead Actress Daytime Emmy nomination. Co-star Justin Bruening and Havins immediately hit things off. And in December of 2004, Bruening proposed to Havins, making them a real-life couple as well as a reel-life couple. Bruening and Havins both left AMC within months of each other in 2007.
