At the Blue Note, Gwen tried to take Ethan's mind off of Theresa and her apparent infidelity. Ivy told him he's much better off without her, and ordered a bottle of the club's best Champagne to celebrate Theresa being out of Ethan's life. Ethan told them he's in no mood to celebrate and excused himself, which gave Gwen the opportunity to fill in Ivy on what happened at the cabin. Ivy encouraged Gwen to go after Ethan and win him back, pronto. The two toasted to that idea. Ethan returned to their table and Ivy annoyed him with her continued Theresa bashing. Ethan was shocked when Gwen admitted that she never stopped loving him, despite how badly he hurt her with Theresa. Ethan and Gwen hugged while Ivy looked on smugly. Ivy pressured Ethan to apologize to Gwen for all the times he sided with Theresa over her. Gwen expressed hope that they could start over and have a future together. Ethan stopped her and clarified that he said nothing about them having a future together. He said he can't think about his future right now. Gwen said she understood but offered to always be there for him.
Theresa drowned her sorrow with a drink at the cabin. "I still can't believe he thinks I'm cheating on him," she cried to Pilar. Theresa vowed to find a way to reconcile with Ethan. Pilar felt guilty for Theresa losing Ethan, blaming Gwen and Rebecca's blackmail over Pilar's past. "I pray there's some way you can still be with him," said Pilar. Theresa was then struck with an idea for a new plan: find Juanita and convince her to end her vendetta against their family. Pilar passed out at the idea. When she came to, she warned Theresa to steer clear of Juanita or else Juanita will kill them all. "That woman will kill you in cold blood like she killed my sister and my nephews," Pilar warned. "I forbid you to go to Mexico." Theresa insisted she can't live with Ethan thinking she betrayed him. "I would rather die than live without him, so if Juanita wants to kill me, let her kill me. I'm going to Mexico." After a final plea, Theresa promised her mother she wouldn't go. With Pilar out of the room, however, Theresa booked the next flight to Mexico.
Miguel and Kay told Tabitha they need to talk to her about something and warned her she's going to hate what they have to say: Kay is going to give up her witchcraft. "But magic's in your DNA," Tabitha declared. "How will you ever be happy denying your true nature?" Kay insisted she wants to make Miguel happy, even if it means giving up her witchcraft. Miguel then asked Tabitha if she would give up using it, too. Tabitha refused, but Miguel insisted that he and Kay couldn't get married until and unless she does. Tabitha admonished Miguel for bringing her into his relationship with Kay and accused him of being on a power trip. Miguel insisted if she stops her magic, all the bad things will stop happening in Harmony. Tabitha countered that they have all the mortals to thank for the bad things happening in town. Miguel freaked out when Endora made her own display of magic, and told Kay he can't marry her. Miguel told Tabitha he wrote a letter that would out Tabitha as a witch if anything ever happened to him. Her back against the wall, Tabitha reluctantly agreed to live a magic-free life. As Kay and Miguel made wedding plans, Tabitha admitted to Endora that she lied to Miguel about stopping their magic.
Sam welcomed Jessica and her baby home. He vowed to keep them both safe from Spike. Sam and Jessica bonded as they spent time with her baby. When Sam excused himself to get a room ready for the baby, Spike surprised Jessica and warned her not to scream. Spike warned her that the last time he was in jail he escaped, and threatened to escape again with Alistair's help and sell her baby on the black market if Jessica let Sam arrest him. Spike then hid when Sam returned with a bottle for the baby. When Sam stepped out again Jessica told Spike to leave but he refused. He told Jessica to give the baby his real first name, Herbert, as the baby's middle name. Sam walked in, but Spike was able to hide in the nick of time. With Spike watching from the other room, Jessica told Sam that the baby's middle name will be Herbert.

Over breakfast, Pilar insisted to Theresa that going to Mexico to confront Juanita would mean the end to their entire family. While Theresa checked on Little Ethan, the airline called about her flight reservation to Mexico.
Theresa lied and said the call was about a trip to Florida she was planning for her son. Pilar apologized for doubting Theresa's sincerity. Once Theresa was alone with Little Ethan, she told him they weren't going to Florida at all; she was going to Mexico. He asked if going to Mexico meant they could finally be a family with his dad. Theresa hoped so, but reminded her son that he had to keep everything a secret for now.
Theresa told Pilar she was leaving to go try to win Ethan back. Pilar showed her a picture of Juanita, and said she hoped Theresa could find a way to be with Ethan that didn't put the family in danger.
Meanwhile, Gwen assured Ethan that she was there for him with whatever he needed. He thanked her, but said he really needed space to process everything Theresa had done to him. While they talked Ethan discovered that he'd received he and Theresa's marriage certificate. Ethan reminisced on how wonderful his wedding was, and how hurt he was by Theresa's actions. Since Alistair was still alive, Ethan told Gwen he didn't have to worry about deciding whether or not he needed a divorce, since his marriage to Theresa meant nothing. "I am completely free and clear of her," he said as he ripped up the certificate. Soon after, Gwen dropped a bomb on Ethan — due to a full disclosure technicality, they were still married! Ethan immediately accused Gwen of setting the whole thing up on purpose, especially since she'd admitted she still loved him. Gwen denied it, but asked Ethan if he wanted to stay together for Jonathan's sake. "I don't want Jonathan growing up with divorced parents," Ethan sighed. He then agreed to stay married to Gwen, but reminded her that it didn't mean they would be together because he had to figure out who he really loved.
In the Crane library, Esme asked Viki why she wanted to eat in the room where Alistair was stabbed the night before. Esme wondered out loud if the person who had stabbed Alistair was the same person who had been killing all of her boyfriends. While Esme rambled, Viki seemed anxious, but Esme assured her that Sam would solve the mystery soon.
Over breakfast, Esme read the details of Alistair's stabbing in the paper.
In a quote, Alistair claimed he would reveal his attacker when the time was right.
At the hospital, Eve apologized to Julian for mistreating him. She also told him she had disturbing news. "Julian it's so awful, it's going to turn your stomach and change everything," she warned. Julian waited for Eve to spit it out, and right before she admitted the truth about Valerie and Vincent, Vincent appeared in the window of her hospital door and gave her an evil look of warning. So instead of telling the truth, Eve told Julian his affair with Valerie was the last straw, and she wanted him out of her life. Julian walked out, saying he was leaving for good. Soon after, Vincent walked in and planted a huge kiss on Eve as she struggled to keep him away. Eve told Vincent she'd kept her end of the bargain, and now he needed to keep his. "You're not gong to hurt anybody anymore, and you're not going to kill anyone," Eve pleaded. Vincent then stuck her with a syringe full of medicine to make her pass out. "Hopefully by the time you wake up, Daddy will be dead," he plotted.
Meanwhile, Viki made her way into a hospital supply closet and filled a syringe with bleach. She then looked Alistair's name up on the hospital roster, and proceeded to his room.

Sam taunted Alistair in his hospital room, then offered him one last opportunity to name his stabber. Alistair flashed back to the event, recalling Viki as the culprit, but said nothing. When Sam left the candy striper in the room was revealed to be Viki. She pulled out a syringe full of bleach and injected it into Alistair's IV. Before she could leave Alistair awoke and grabbed her arm. In the struggle, Viki revealed that she can speak after all. Alistair ripped the IV from his arm and demanded she talk with him or he'll turn her in. "You came back to finish the job, huh?" Alistair sneered. "Are you going to kill me yourself?" asked Viki. Viki was shocked when Alistair told her he's amazed and impressed by her. "You're pure evil!" Alistair enthused, before asking Viki if she tried to kill him because she saw him kissing Esme. Viki flipped out and said since her parents died Esme is all she has left. Alistair said he won't turn her in if she'll do what she does best for him: Kill. "I'll put your talents to good use." "Who do you want me to kill?" asked Viki. "Ethan," said Alistair. After spotting Ethan hugging Esme through the window, Esme developed murderous feelings for him.
Sam met with Esme next and warned her that she could be charged with attempted murder for setting up Alistair. Ethan told Ivy he wants to meet with Sam about Gwen and Theresa. When Sam was available Ethan told his parents that because of a technicality his divorce from Gwen was never finalized, so he's still married to her. Sam asked if that meant he's going to remain with her. Ethan said he doesn't know what he's going to do, but he did tell Gwen not to proceed with the divorce right now. He conceded he still loves Theresa, which irked Ivy to no end. Sam said he backs Ethan no matter what he decides. Esme offered Ethan her own opinion on his dilemma. Ethan confessed he's still in love with Theresa, no matter what. Esme suggested it seems completely out of character that Theresa would have an affair. Ethan concluded he's going to stop fantasizing about Theresa and begin planning a new life for himself with Gwen. Esme told him to reconsider and follow his heart.
At home, Sam and Ivy argued over what choice Ethan should make. They stopped arguing long enough for Sam to make out with Ivy on the sofa, which quickly turned into a hot session of lovemaking. "I love you," Ivy told Sam afterwards as they kissed. Meanwhile, Gwen primped in gleeful anticipation of meeting Ethan and enjoying her planned romantic getaway with him. Rebecca looked up Juanita on the Internet and was impressed by how evil and dangerous she is. She suggested the way to really "win" Ethan back for good was to get pregnant again. On the plane to Mexico, Theresa vowed to stop Juanita and her vendetta. She had an extended fantasy of her and Ethan on a telenovela. Her fantasy had a happy ending for her and her beau. Fresh off her fantasy, Theresa felt confident that she could make a happy ending for her and Ethan in real life, as well.
