Esme panicked as she tried to call 911. She checked for a pulse on Jake and didn't find any. "That's three in a row," Esme freaked. Meanwhile, Kay did her best to cast the right spell to prevent Fancy from seeing Luis and Sheridan together. Kay admonished Tabitha (who was still in the paper bag) for her machinations. Kay looked into the bowl of water, and saw she had transported Luis and Sheridan back to Sheridan's cottage, where they got into an argument over finding Marty. Sheridan blamed Luis for not believing in her in time, while Luis accused Sheridan of always blaming everything on Fancy. Kay was excited that she succeeded, but then realized she transported Fancy into Esme's room with Jake. Esme explained to a horrified Fancy that Jake is dead. Fancy asked Esme what she did to Jake. Esme explained that she was having a consensual S&M encounter with him when he began coughing and choking, then he passed out and died. Esme and Fancy were at a loss as to who could have murdered Jake — and why. Fancy said she'd conduct a preliminary sweep of the room to search for evidence before forensics arrives. Esme discovered the pin on the bed and the pin prick on Jake's arm. Fancy looked for more clues around the bed.
Kay brainstormed for a new way to get Miguel and Endora back. Ivy and Sam entered and Kay covered up her supernatural shenanigans. Sam told Kay they got the results back on the blood they found on the kitchen floor. "It doesn't look good for you, Kay," Sam warned — the blood turned out to be human. "The lab is testing it now trying to find a match." Ivy suggested it belonged to Tabitha, Miguel or Endora, as Ivy accused Kay of murdering them. After Sam and Ivy excused themselves Kay monitored the bowl of water to watch Luis and Sheridan argue further. From insider her paper bag Tabitha cast a spell to make Sheridan chill out and stop arguing. Luis then said he was going to find Fancy and make sure she's OK. As he prepared to leave, he tripped over a trunk that had materialized on the floor of Sheridan's cottage. They investigated the trunk, and thanks to Tabitha's magical intervention, they shared a heartwarming walk down memory lane which culminated in a passionate kiss.
Sam and Ivy returned and Sam had more questions for her Kay, who insisted she didn't kidnap or murder anyone. Sam reprimanded Ivy for interrupting his investigation with her own questions. Ivy accused Sam of having a blind spot where Kay is concerned. Kay then looked in on Fancy and Esme and was aghast to learn that the fingerprints Fancy lifted at the crime scene belonged to Kay. Kay became livid at Tabitha for trying to frame her for all the murders in order to blackmail her.
At the hospital, Julian gave Eve some coffee. She thanked Julian for the pep talk and declared she was going to get clean — no more booze and pills — and conceded that her visions of Vincent was just guilty feelings. Dressed in OR scrubs, Vincent eavesdropped on their conversation through the door, as Eve resolved not to let what happened to Vincent destroy her or her future. A frantic Theresa and Ethan brought baby Jonathan into the ER with Gwen in tow. The nurse explained his 105 temperature was very serious and said she had paged Dr. Russell, while Gwen tried to downplay the seriousness of it all. Rebecca joined them and asked why Ethan was comforting Theresa and not Gwen. "How could you let this happen?" asked Rebecca. Gwen assured Rebecca she spoke to Pilar to make sure Theresa keeps her distance. Dr. Russell told Ethan and Theresa she got Jonathan's fever down a couple degrees but was still searching for the cause of the fever. Theresa and Ethan begged for reassurances. Eve remained noncommittal, but assured she was doing everything she could. She upset them when she suggested that they could always pray. Vincent eavesdropped on them and resolved to kill Jonathan and frame Eve for his death. Just then Julian came up behind Vincent, but he was interrupted by Eve before he could see it was Vincent. Eve broke the news to Julian that Jonathan's fever wasn't coming down. Julian reassured Eve of her competency as a doctor, and offered to get her something to eat. While he stepped out, Vincent gaslighted Eve by casting his voice into her office. In emotional desperation, Eve pulled out her bottle of booze from her desk and began drinking again. She then put the cap on the bottle and tried to pull herself together. Eve popped a breath mint and resolved to overcome her hallucinations. The ER nurse then called and told Eve that the IV wasn't working to bring down Jonathan's fever. The nurse confirmed with Eve to go ahead and administer the prescription Eve wrote for him. Meanwhile Vincent tampered with the prescription and upped it to a lethal dosage. Julian returned with clam chowder for Eve and detected that she'd been drinking again. She told him she heard Vincent again. Julian suggested she find some other way to deal with her guilt. Eve wanted to go to the ER to check on Jonathan but Julian worried that others would discover she'd been hitting the bottle. Back in the ER, Ethan thanked Theresa for her support and asked her what she had planned to tell him. Theresa stalled to buy some time. Ethan swore on his son's life he won't be angry with Theresa. With that level of assurance Theresa prepared to tell Ethan, while Vincent observed the nurse administering the lethal dose to Jonathan.

After confirming the fingerprint on the headboard belonged to Kay, Esme and Fancy concluded that she poisoned and murdered Jake, thought they struggled to come up with a possible motive. Esme begged Fancy to solve the case ASAP before any prospective dates are scared off, thinking Esme has a death wish for them. Viki entered because she couldn't sleep. Fancy pushed Esme to take her out of the room before she saw what had happened, but it was too late and Viki freaked out. Esme did her best to comfort her niece. The more Esme tried to comfort Viki, however, the more she ended up upsetting her. Viki asked about her mom and dad and Esme told her it's time to know the truth. Esme broke the news to Viki that Viki's parents were dead.
Sam and Ivy observed Kay lashing out at Tabitha inside the brown paper bag, and worried about her sanity. Sam continued to defend Kay as being innocent of all the alleged murders. Ivy grabbed the bag from Kay and stepped on it, and blood oozed out. "Oh my God, Ivy stomped her to death," Kay screamed, while Ivy and Sam looked at each other dumbfounded. Kay grieved for Tabitha over the brown bag. Ivy and Sam wondered what the red stuff was on Ivy's shoe. Kay insisted it was Tabitha's blood, and asked Sam to arrest Ivy for killing Tabitha. Sam and Ivy grew more bewildered as Kay babbled on about Tabitha and her witchcraft, etc. Fancy arrived to tell Sam that Jake was dead, and broke the news that Kay's fingerprint was found at the crime scene. Ivy again demanded that Sam arrest Kay for all the murders. Sam asked Fancy to confirm the fingerprint is Kay's. While Sam confirmed it, Kay insisted Tabitha planted the fingerprint with her magic. She insisted she was set up by Tabitha.
At the hospital, Gwen was annoyed by Rebecca's nagging about Jonathan's condition, and continued to downplay the severity of his problem. Julian asked Eve to stay in her office and rest, but Eve insisted on returning to the ER to check on Jonathan. Julian warned that he could smell alcohol on her breath and worried that others would too. Julian finally convinced Eve to stay and eat her soup and drink some coffee. Ethan asked Theresa to finally tell her the "good news" she'd been trying to share. Jonathan's nurse administered the prescription Vincent altered to a lethal dose just as Theresa began to tell him. Jonathan soon flatlined and Theresa and Ethan were interrupted when a Code Blue was called for him. Gwen freaked out when she heard the attending doctor realize that Eve "prescribed" a lethal dose for Jonathan. Meanwhile Eve and Julian were enjoying coffee in her office, unaware of what was happening in the ER. Eve insisted she kept hearing and seeing Vincent despite the records of his death. "My heart tells me that he's alive," Eve insisted. Julian suggested they take a trip out of town to clear their heads. Eve agreed to go once she's satisfied that Jonathan is stabilized. Eve and Julian headed for the ER, where Ethan and Gwen comforted each other as the ER staff worked to save Jonathan. When Eve arrived, Gwen slapped her across the face. "Because of you, my son could die!" exclaimed Gwen while Vincent laughed from the sidelines.

Kay continued to defend her innocence to Sam, while Ivy urged Sam to arrest her. Sam reluctantly agreed. "I can't ignore the evidence. Kay Bennett, you're under arrest," said Sam as he read Kay her rights. Ivy's constant sniping annoyed Sam, but Ivy wouldn't back down. While Kay and Ivy argued over who killed Tabitha someone approached the front door and opened it — Tabitha. Tabitha's returned shocked everyone, especially an overjoyed Kay. Tabby told Kay she managed to get out of the paper bag just before Ivy stomped on it. She asked to have a private word with Kay before Sam takes her to jail. Privately, Tabitha admonished Kay for blabbing about witchcraft. She then told Kay they have to pay the Dark Forces the ransom to get Miguel and Endora back. She made a deal with Kay to clear her of the murder charges if she allows Tabitha to commit whatever evil she needs to. In the midst of their discussion, Tabitha realized she didn't have time to cancel her annual Halloween party. Ivy passed out when she saw ghost guests for the party materialize in the room. When Tabitha discovered Ivy passed out, she called the party off and urged her ghost guests to leave before Ivy regained consciousness. Ivy came to, saw them again and yelled for Sam. By the time Sam arrived, however, the ghosts disappeared. A panicked Ivy insisted she saw them. Sam wrote off her behavior as a result of all the stress Ivy has been under. As he prepared to take Kay to jail Tabitha asked Kay one final time if she'll accept her offer.
At the hospital, Eve was horrified to learn from Ethan and Gwen that Jonathan was given the wrong dose of medicine, thanks to her. Eve insisted she prescribed the correct dosage for an infant, while Vincent eavesdropped on the argument. Eve pleaded that she acted competently as everyone looked on with skepticism. Gwen angrily rebuffed Eve, then broke down in tears to Ethan, distraught over the prospect of losing their son. Meanwhile Rebecca got in Theresa's face when Theresa attempted to console Ethan. Beccs insisted that Theresa keep her word, stay clear of Ethan and leave him and Gwen alone. Theresa refused to back down. Julian took Eve back to her office to regroup. Eve insisted she didn't make a mistake on the prescription. Julian offered to go to the ER for an update if Eve stayed in her office. When Julian left Eve reached for the bottle of booze in her desk but was interrupted by Vincent. She insisted he was an illusion, but Vincent touched her to show her that he's real. Back in the ER the doctor revealed that Jonathan was suffering from an overdose. The doctor added that the initial problem that caused the fever will be addressed as soon as they get past the overdose crisis. Gwen declared that if anything happens to Jonathan she's holding Eve responsible. Rebecca chimed in and echoed those threats to Julian. Rebecca then turned back to Theresa and warned her that she will reveal Pilar's secret if Theresa doesn't back off.
Eve kept telling herself it was a Halloween trick, and finally took huge gulps of booze. When she turned around Vincent was gone, or so she thought. He then spooked her by tapping her on the shoulder. Vincent berated Eve for being a bad mother, and warned her that Jonathan was going to die, thanks to her. As Eve continued to nip at her bottle Vincent continued to taunt her, telling Eve she's a bad person who will never get past Jonathan's death. Eve tearfully agreed and said she doesn't deserve to live. Vincent handed Eve a scalpel and urged her to kill herself before she causes more pain to the people she loves. Meanwhile Jonathan's doctor finally came out with a foreboding look. "I'm sorry," she said grimly to Ethan and Gwen.

Sam prepared to take Kay into custody, but Kay finally relented and agreed to Tabitha's offer. Tabitha cast a spell and froze everybody else in the room, then cast another spell that had Fancy receive a text message from the police department, stating that the fingerprint found at the murder site belonged to the victim, not to Kay, after all. Sam and Kay rejoiced at the news, much to Ivy's dismay. Tabitha further covered by saying Endora is visiting Tabitha's relatives and Miguel is off on a camping trip. A skeptical Ivy demanded answers from Tabitha and confronted her about Kay, saying Tabitha is a witch. Tabitha tried to cover but Ivy remained undaunted. Sam told Ivy to drop it, and ushered a perturbed Ivy out of the house. After Sam and Ivy left, Tabitha admonished Kay for blabbing about their witchcraft. She resolved to do whatever is necessary to get Miguel and Endora back.
Luis apologized for kissing Sheridan and said it shouldn't have happened. Sheridan thought it was a marvelous thing, obviously hoping that it would lead to more. After Sheridan gave some candy to some trick-or-treaters she showed Luis the costume she got for Marty, and was down on herself for always getting things for Marty even though he's still MIA. Luis reassured Sheridan that they would find Marty. He encouraged Sheridan by suggesting that Marty would be home by Christmas. Sheridan had a fantasy of her, Luis and Marty celebrating a happy Christmas together, and then asked God to help them find their child. Tabitha cast another spell, turning Luis and Sheridan amorous for each other. The couple began to make love in front of the fire as Tabitha zapped them with more spells to make them even more lustful for each other. Fancy arrived and walked in on them making love.
Vincent handed Eve a scalpel and encouraged her to kill herself. Eve downed more booze as she listened to Vincent's words of "encouragement." When Eve went to slit her wrist, Vincent told her to do it the long way — "the right way." A drunken and despondent Eve proceeded to take the scalpel and slit her wrist. Vincent told her what a good job she's doing. Eve staggered to get up but couldn't. Vincent encouraged Eve to rest as she became groggy. When Eve tried to leave her office she fell onto the floor and passed out. Vincent became sick at the sight of Eve's blood and ran out.
Rebecca warned Theresa to stay away from Ethan, or else. Theresa wouldn't listen until Rebecca summoned Pilar, who warned her daughter that their whole family is doomed if Theresa doesn't comply. Theresa bristled at Pilar's admonishment and resisted her mother's instructions. Rebecca scolded Pilar to get Theresa in line. When Rebecca stepped away, Theresa demanded to know what Rebecca has on Pilar. Pilar insisted it was catastrophic and Theresa needs to comply, but she refused. The ER doctor told Ethan and Gwen that Jonathan is suffering from liver failure, caused by the overdose. Gwen flipped out, while Ethan asked what to do. The doctor said they can begin treatment immediately with consent, but Gwen refused, citing how incompetent the hospital has been thus far. The doctor warned that without treatment Jonathan will get worse and die. Ethan offered to sign the consent forms if Gwen wouldn't. Gwen said he couldn't, because Ethan is NOT Jonathan's father after all. Gwen's bombshell rocked everyone in the ER. She clarified that he's not Jonathan's father legally because his name is not on the birth certificate yet. Gwen refused to give consent for treatment and walked off. The doctor urged Ethan to try talking some sense into her before it's too late. Ethan turned to Theresa for comfort, while Rebecca berated Gwen. Gwen refused to listen to her mother, who went onto the computer to look for more dirt on Pilar to keep Theresa in check. Pilar appeared and Rebecca gleefully gloated about the new dirt she has on Pilar, warning her what will happen if she can't keep Theresa under control. Gwen declared she's going to take Jonathan home while the doctor suggested that treatment begin immediately before it's too late. Gwen refused, and the doctor told Ethan if he's going to do something, do it ASAP before it's too late.
