PASSIONS Recaps Week of July 23, 2007Friday, July 27, 2007 Chad and Whitney resolved to find Vincent and confront him. A puzzled Julian asked Vincent why he dressed up like a "clown on crack." Vincent revealed that everyone has seen him dressed up like this, and Julian realized that Vincent is the blackmailer. "I'm so much more than the blackmailer," said Vincent, lifting up his skirt and showing his genitalia to a shocked Julian as Eve turned away in disgust. Vincent expressed his rage at Eve and Julian for abandoning them. Julian and Eve defended themselves by insisting they thought Vincent was dead, but he was unsympathetic to their excuses. After Vincent stepped out of the room, Eve and Julian drowned their sorrows over Vincent in booze. Eve said Alistair would be proud of Vincent for his evil ways. Julian thought about having to protect Crane Industries from any scandal. Whitney and Chad arrived on the scene just as Eve cried "Poor Vincent." Whitney was upset to hear her mother speak so sympathetically about him. Julian defended Eve to Whitney. Chad and Whitney demanded to speak to Vincent. Julian and Eve said he left, but Chad and Whitney didn't believe them. Whitney grew suspicious and asked Julian what else Vincent is hiding, specifically if Chad was targeted so Vincent could ruin Chad and Whitney's marriage, and if Eve knew that he was Whitney's brother. Eve told him she and Julian just found out themselves. Whitney railed on Eve for having her secrets destroy their family, including her marriage to Chad. When Chad couldn't find Vincent he and Whitney said they were going off in search of him.
In prison, Fancy surprised Luis by asking him to marry her before his execution in front of their family and friends. Luis was visibly taken aback by her proposal, but happily accepted: "I want to marry you," he said, as they kissed and hugged while a tearful Sheridan looked on in surprise. Fancy told Luis that marrying him would make her life complete. Father Lonigan agreed to officiate, so all they needed to get was a special marriage license from the warden. "There's nothing like getting married to take your mind off of being executed," mused Luis. "What about Fancy?" Sheridan questioned, warning Luis that he's going to leave her a widow. Sheridan insisted she wasn't trying to cause trouble by pointing this out to her. She told Luis if she really wanted to break up him and Fancy she'd just tell Luis what Fancy did to Pretty years ago. Luis wondered how bad Fancy's "secret" could really be. Sheridan suggested that maybe Fancy would tell Luis on her own. When Fancy returned she could see Luis was appearing to have second thoughts and accused Sheridan of trying to ruin things for her. Sheridan told Fancy that she and Luis will be united for eternity after they're both dead, which offended Father Lonigan and Fancy. Fancy and Sheridan argued over who is rightfully Luis' true love. Father Lonigan admonished both women for arguing during Luis' final hours. Sheridan spotted Vincent and stepped out to speak to him. Vincent warned Sheridan that she failed to keep up her end of their bargain. Sheridan told Vincent he didn't keep up his end of their bargain either and she also knows he's the blackmailer. Vincent claimed he could delay Luis' execution until Pretty arrives if Sheridan killed Theresa. "Not a problem," Sheridan replied. Luis asked Fancy to make sure she won't have any regrets about marrying him, and Fancy insisted that she wouldn't. Luis reassured her that they can still get married as planned, but he had one question first: What happened between her and Pretty?
Meanwhile, just as Vincent promised Sheridan, Pretty was on a plane en route to Harmony....
Thursday, July 26, 2007 On the wharf, Whitney angrily accused Chad of knowing that Vincent was her long-lost brother. Chad was shocked by the news and realized that Vincent is also his nephew. Chad surmised that Vincent specifically targeted him when they met at the gay bar just for further revenge against the family. The two agreed to track down Vincent and confront him. Julian was shocked when Eve introduced Vincent as their son. He was disgusted by his son's identity as a blackmailer and murderer. Julian was puzzled by Vincent's cryptic and elusive comments. Vincent left the room to get ready to show him who he really is. Eve poured herself a stiff drink and encouraged Julian to do the same before Vincent returns. Julian accused Eve of using their son's behavior to justify her drug and alcohol use. Vincent returned in his half-male, half-female blackmailer garb and shocked Julian speechless as Eve poured him a drink. Pilar and company arrived at the prison to deliver Luis' final meal. Ethan informed Luis that his appeal to the governor was rejected. Just as they began to eat the guard escorted Father Lonigan into Luis' cell to give Luis his last rites. Father Lonigan corrected the guard and said he was there to deliver the last rites to another prisoner, but thought he'd pay a social call to Luis while he was there. Pilar invited Father Lonigan to join them for dinner. Father Lonigan asked Luis to confess anything, but Luis maintained his innocence and said he has a clear conscience. Pilar made Theresa confess to Luis that Ethan is Little Ethan's father. Luis told Theresa she must "do the right thing" and tell Ethan now. Luis and Sheridan shared a heartfelt moment and hugged as Fancy looked on. Noah asked Luis for his blessing to marry Paloma, and Luis happily gave it. Luis made Noah promise that he'd look after Paloma and his whole family after Luis is gone, while Fancy asked Pilar for her blessing on idea she had for Luis, to propose to him. Pilar gave it. A prisoner in a neighboring cell on death row chatted up Theresa. Theresa told the prisoner her secret. He said when his wife kept a big secret from him about his son, he killed her. The prisoner made Theresa too frightened to tell Ethan the truth after all. Fancy got down on bended knee and proposed to Luis while a horrified Sheridan looked on.
Wednesday, July 25, 2007 As Whitney consoled Theresa, Vincent called Theresa and asked her for a comment on Luis' execution. Ethan arrived and told Theresa he hasn't yet been able to reach the governor. He tried to get Theresa to look on the bright side, because they're finally together. Ethan suggested that Luis will beat the odds like they have. Valerie asked Vincent to leave her place because they broke up, but he refused and taunted her. "It's not over until I say it's over," Vincent seethed. "I'm not going anywhere until you give me what I want." He closed the door, trapping Valerie inside. Vincent turned violent and started breaking things as Whitney arrived. Whitney heard Vincent's tirade from outside. By the time she entered, Vincent had run out the back door. Valerie warned Whitney not to pursue him because he's insane. She said Vincent was enraged because he thought Valerie had told his secret. "What secret?" asked Whitney. "It will be a terrible shock for you Whitney," warned Valerie. "He's your brother!" Noah professed his love for Paloma and proposed to her. Paloma said she appreciated his offer but she couldn't think about anything other than her brother is about to be executed. Noah understood and apologized. Paloma asked for some more time. Noah declared his love and told her he'd be here when she was ready, and they kissed. Elsewhere, Pilar admonished Sheridan and Fancy for their behavior. Pilar said all they can do is pray and rally around Luis. Fancy and Sheridan apologized to each other. Pilar asked them to join her in cooking Luis "the most amazing meal he's ever had." Pilar, Fancy, Sheridan, Ethan and Theresa joined Noah and Paloma in the kitchen to finish Luis' final meal. Pilar became overcome with emotion and wept for her son as everyone tried to console her. A special report came on the radio announcing that the governor rejected Luis' final appeal. "The execution will take place at midnight, as planned." Julian asked Eve to repeat herself: "Our son is a murderer." Eve told Julian that he killed Rae to punish Simone, and that Luis is going to be executed for something their son did. Eve and Julian debated whether to turn in their son to save Luis. "I can't live with Luis' death on my conscience," Eve cried. Julian asked for time to think, but Eve yelled that time is running out. The two of them debated what course of action to take. Eve lamented how devastating the truth about their son has turned out to be. She said she wished her son had never come to Harmony. Julian accused Eve of hiding something else about their son. Vincent arrived and crashed their conversation. "Hi, Daddy-o!" he crowed at Julian. Vincent refused to leave when Julian told him to get lost.
Tuesday, July 24, 2007 Noah and Paloma helped Pilar prepare food to take to Luis. Pilar lauded Luis for the sacrifices he made for his family over the years and how willingly he assumed the man of the house role. She said Luis' final dinner won't be a sad event but a celebration of Luis' life. Paloma reminisced about returning to Harmony and getting reacquainted with her brother. Paloma expressed her helplessness: "I feel like I'm letting him down at the time he needs it most." Pilar vowed to find a way to save Luis in time. Ethan woke up Theresa in bed and the two marveled that they're finally happy and in bed together. She lamented that Luis' execution is scheduled for the next night, however, and despite all her money and power she's been powerless to stop it. Ethan reassured Theresa that the two of them have done everything they could to save Luis. She said the blackmailer is to blame for everything. Ethan took solace in their relationship and vowed to never let anything come between them again. "I swear to God I've managed to fall in love with you all over again," cooed Ethan. Later, Theresa left to see Whitney, who consoled her over Luis' impending execution. Theresa cried that she felt like she was losing her father all over again. She reported that things are great with Ethan now, but told her friend that Jared found out about Little Ethan, as did Gwen and Rebecca. Whitney was shocked, and warned Theresa not to trust them to keep silent around Ethan. Theresa asked that they pray for a miracle. Meanwhile, Ethan was trying to reach the governor by phone to seek a stay of execution for Luis before it was too late. Sheridan taunted Fancy and threatened to prevent her from seeing Luis. The two women argued over who Luis really loves. Sheridan blamed her niece for Luis' impending execution, because Fancy originally fingered Luis as being her attacker. In turn, Fancy taunted Sheridan about her relationship with Luis and the choices Sheridan made that drove Luis away, especially her decision to marry and stay with Chris. Fancy accused Sheridan of being just like Alistair. Sheridan threatened to expose Fancy's past with Pretty to Luis and ruin her relationship with him just before he is executed. Eventually Sheridan slapped Fancy, Fancy slapped her back, and the two engaged in an all out, hair-pulling catfight. Pilar broke it up and admonished them for acting this way on the eve of the execution of the man they both profess to love. "The only thing you should be doing is thinking of how to save Luis!" cried Pilar.
Monday, July 23, 2007 Eve tried to swallow the fact that beautiful bisexual Vincent was in fact her son the blackmailer. He taunted her but she only apologized for not having known he was alive so she could have protected him. She professed her love again and again, but he was unmoved. "Whitney and Simone got everything and I got nothing, so they had to pay," he shrugged and she figured out Rae's death and Chad's seduction were vengeance he'd doled out on his sisters. He railed on her for being a drugged-up slut who abandoned him, but she countered that losing him had been the thing that "made me get my life back on track." He attacked her for continuing to do drugs while she was carrying him and blamed her for who he had become. Then Whitney stormed in, asking what Vincent was doing there. Vincent insisted Eve wanted him there and laughed when his unknowing sis shot, "You must come from a completely degenerate gene pool." Eve started to tell her the truth, but backed down, so Whit went to call the police while Vincent called Eve a "cowardly bitch." Then he stormed out and Whitney showed him the door, while Eve tried to come up with a next move. She knew she had to 'fess up for Luis' sake, but was too stressed out to think straight. She popped a pill from her briefcase. Theresa thanked Gwen for keeping her trap shut about Little E, but Gwen was just setting her up for a bigger fall. "The pain and the carnage of it all is going to be absolutely delicious," she cooed to her mother. After she and Ethan finalized their divorce, he asked if she was seeing someone new. To Rebecca's surprise, a glowing Gwen admitted it was true. Beccs said she was dying to meet him, but Gwen didn't want to "jinx" it. Ethan understood and asked her to stay involved in Jane's life. She didn't plan on staying in Harmony, but was touched. Meanwhile, upstairs, Jared took a break from packing to blow Theresa away by revealing he knew about Little E too. "I know that you would die to protect that secret — or worse, marry me," he said, but he wasn't angry. He promised to keep her secret and said it was like a weight lifted off his shoulders. He agreed her actions were awful, but comforted her with a hug. When he said he'd fallen in love with her, she admitted she would have trouble getting over him too. Then he warned her not to trust Gwen and Rebecca, but she felt she could. When they went downstairs, Gwen excused herself. Jared followed shortly after and almost overheard Gwen's plan to drop the bomb at Theresa and Ethan's wedding. "Karma's a real bitch," he warned, adding an unveiled threat about payback if she told Ethan. They were surprised he knew about Little E, but seeing Theresa and Ethan kissing kept her on track. "Karma's already done it's worst to me," she shrugged and called her plan "payback time." Meanwhile, Ethan agreed to let Theresa's secret go only if she promised it wasn't about them — and she promised!
