PASSIONS Recaps Week of March 5, 2007

Kay pulled out of the makeout session with Miguel by slapping him, and they had their standard argument. This time, Miguel changed it up by saying, "The bottom line is that whether Fox is proven a liar or Fox dies, I will be here for you, Kay, because I love you. And we will end up together in the end." Kay took that to mean he wanted Fox to die, but Miguel countered that Fox probably wasn't sick and would end up proving him right. Kay believed that her hubby was dying and teared up over cheating on him. "I just can't live with this kind of guilt," she cried, but Miguel responded, "It's not considered cheating when you shouldn't be married to him in the first place." (Huh?) Kay insisted that no matter how things turned out, she wouldn't be with Miguel again. She told him she couldn't see him anymore and ordered him to leave, so he turned away.

When Chris pushed Fancy to tell him her secret, she wondered to herself, "When will Pretty ever stop haunting me?" She skirted his question by insisting she just wanted to find Luis and Sheridan. She had no idea where they'd be hiding until she thought of Theresa. Chris tried to convince her of his confidence in his marriage to Sheridan, so she sent him off to get sandwiches while she brainstormed. She got on the computer and searched the Crane database, finding three possible addresses. When Chris returned, she lied and ditched him by pretending to go up to bed. Not fooled, Chris took a seat at the computer and found the info Fancy had been looking at.

Sheridan worked on dinner for Luis and pretended to be sorry about the tension between her and Fancy, all the while hoping to ruin Luis' relationship with Fancy. When she asked him what he saw in Fancy, he said, among other things, that Fancy reminded him of her. Sheridan responded that she'd been attracted to a strength in Chris that reminded her of Luis. "We just can't quit each other, can we?" she mused before returning to the kitchen, where she covered herself in sauce and pretended she'd burned herself. Luis jumped to her rescue and her screams suddenly turned to tears over Marty. "I miss him so much," she cried and threw herself into Luis's arms. She sobbed over her lost dream of their life together and then said she was being selfish, since she had it with Chris. Then she told him she'd tried to talk Fancy into leaving him alone. "I was only trying to protect you the way you've always protected me," she explained. Luis forgave her and admitted he ached for Marty every day. They held hands and remembered their son and their love. "How did it all fall apart?" he wondered, and they kissed.

Vincent was confident that Chad loved him and refused to be ashamed. He finally agreed to keep quiet as long as Chad admitted his feelings. While Chad and his lovah quarreled at the table, Whitney and Theresa discussed Theresa's blackmailer. Theresa figured her wedding was on, since her phone was out of batteries and thus Ethan couldn't call to change her mind. When they joined the guys at the table, Whit overheard Vincent saying, "I won't tell Whitney." Chad suggested they go home and talk about it, but Vincent urged them to stay out and Whitney agreed. Vincent covered by saying they'd been discussing his insecurities and his fear that Valerie was cheating on him. He wondered why his girlfriend had been a no-show at dinner. Whitney empathized, telling him, "I was constantly suspicious that Chad was seeing somebody else up to and even right after our wedding, and I just thank God that's over with." She then joked that she thought only girls talked about love. After dinner, Whitney and Theresa left the guys together to hang out, which meant they could resume their quarrel. Chad said the idea that he loved Vincent was "sick, disgusting and perverted," but Vincent shrugged that he'd have to face his feelings one day. Frustrated, Chad slammed the table, knocking over his glass.

Jared was on cloud nine over his upcoming nuptials and enjoyed throwing his victory in Ethan's face, but then he tried to make peace. Ethan wasn't hearing that. "You're not marrying Theresa tonight or any other night. Got it?" he swore. The two argued until Jared got too worked up and started having trouble breathing. The nurse rushed in and jumped to action.

What code did the nurse call when Jared had trouble breathing?

Doubled over from his treatment, Fox tried to send Kay home, but she was determined to stay by his side. He sent her to get ice chips and stole a moment with Nurse Stevens, grabbing her arm and demanding an explanation for why the placebo was making him so sick. She suggested his symptoms were psychosomatic, so he threatened that she better be right. "Cause and effect. If you hurt me, I will hurt you," he promised. Kay was surprised by the angry scene she'd walked in on, but the nurse blamed it on a painful muscle spasm. When she left, Kay asked if Miguel was really the driver who took him down. Fox feigned anger and then forgave her. He asked her to stay with him until he fell asleep and then go home, where Miguel was staring into a snow globe and Pilar was putting Maria down. He groaned to his mom about the Kay situation and insisted he'd prove Fox's trickery. "He keeps outfoxing me at every turn!" he whined. He pointed out that Fox would have explaining to do if he didn't die, but Pilar warned that if Fox dies, it will prove Miguel wrong. When Kay returned home, Miguel professed his love and kissed her.

Fancy and Chris discussed their MIA significant others. When Chris wondered if Luis and Sheridan were together, Fancy growled, "If Sheridan's with Luis, I swear to God, I'll kill her." She insisted Sheridan had been trying to break up her and Luis, but Chris remained naively convinced Sheridan was committed to him. Fancy got him to admit he was as unsure as she was, but he said he'd do anything to keep Sheridan in his life. "While she serves cake to Luis, you're willing to eat the crumbs?" she asked, but he was confident there was nothing that would make Sheridan stop loving him nor anything that could make Luis stop loving her. It was clear from Fancy's response that he might be wrong and that whatever it was, it had something to do with Pretty. Over in the hideout, Sheridan massaged Luis as he stressed over trying to clear his name. He thanked her for being there for him...and then they were kissing! Alas, it was just Sheridan's fantasy and when Luis interrupted, he told her to leave because she was in danger. She shrugged it off and refused to leave, outlining all she would do to help him keep his "eye on the big picture." Luis was touched and excited to clear his name so he could be with Fancy, but Sheridan thought to herself, "The big picture I meant is making you forget all about Fancy." She bemoaned Fancy's lack of faith in her and was remorseful over questioning Fancy's story about being raped. Then passive-aggressive Sheridan got Luis to insist she explain why she didn't trust Fancy by telling him the story about Pretty. "Let's not discuss why Pretty never comes home," Sheridan "slipped."

Ethan urged Chad to not make the same mistakes he had in denying his feelings for Theresa. "I'm starting to believe in fate, Chad, because despite everything I tried to do to keep us apart, now we're going to be together," he said. Little did he know Theresa was rushing along her marriage to Jared, per the blackmailer's orders. When Jared asked why the rush, Theresa didn't give an answer. Instead, she muttered Ethan's name. (Very smooth, Theresa!) She talked her way out of the slip, explaining that she meant that her wedding to Ethan was ruined at the last minute and didn't want that to happen again. Then she called Judge Reilly over to marry them. Ethan, meanwhile, was asking Chad if his lover was so vindictive that "she" would reveal their affair. Chad was sure of it. Just outside, Vincent and Whitney decided to start their double date without their other halves. Whit wanted to call Chad when they got to the Seascape, but Vincent stopped her. Instead, he had the maître d' take their picture and then sent it to Chad. Then he started telling her his "shocking" news, which she assumed was about him and Val. Vincent revealed he loved someone else, but was interrupted by Chad's angry entrance. Then Vincent backtracked, saying he only loved Valerie. Chad cooed that Whit was "the only person in my heart. The only person I love." The guys were left to argue when Theresa arrived. Whitney caught up with her and Theresa concluded that she just hoped Ethan didn't find out she was marrying Jared, because he's the only one who could stop her. As luck would have it, Ethan called Judge Reilly on business and the judge let the cat out of the bag!

Sheridan was afraid that Fancy's accusations would get Luis killed. She showed Chris the latest newspaper reports, causing Chris to wonder if Luis could be responsible for the crimes after all. Sheridan, however, blamed Fancy for coming forward about her attack. Sheridan promised a concerned Chris that she was committed to their marriage, even though she still cares for Luis. Chris wanted to spend some private time together, but as soon as he left the room, Sheridan tried to track Luis on her computer. When he returned, Chris discovered that Sheridan was gone.

Ivy admitted to Fancy that she too now doubted that Luis was Fancy's attacker. All of the evidence against Luis was too "perfect," the women mused. Luis called Fancy from his safe house. "Luis, is that you?" Fancy wondered, but Luis hung up without speaking. Luis attacked someone he believed to be an intruder, but quickly learned it was Sheridan. Luis thought he should leave the apartment since Sheridan had found him, but she was confident that no one else would track him there. Sheridan counseled Luis not to call Fancy and puffed that she could make him forget her niece. Meanwhile, Fancy still suspected Sheridan of being involved in her attack. Chris showed up looking for Sheridan. Ivy wondered if Luis and Sheridan were together. "They'd better not be!" huffed Fancy.

Ethan told Chad that Gwen wouldn't talk to him and she was going ahead with the divorce. Now he could be with Theresa, Ethan mused. Chad wondered how Ethan could move so easily between the two women. Ethan wondered if Chad's affair was bothering him. Chad admitted that the affair made him feel dirty and worried that he was "addicted to sex." Ethan wondered if Chad's "other woman" could be his true love, but Chad insisted Whitney was first in his heart. Vincent showed up and Chad again informed his lover their affair was over. Vincent threatened to put the videos of them having sex on the Internet or send them to Whitney...just as Whitney, herself, arrived. Vincent asked Whitney to have coffee, but Chad refused on her behalf, telling his wife that Miles needed to be fed. Vincent followed Whitney and arranged for a couples' dinner that night with Vincent, Chad, Whitney and Valerie.

Theresa lamented to Whitney that she had to succumb to the blackmailer's threats. Theresa told Vincent he could stop looking for the memory stick. Whitney couldn't believe that Theresa would give up, but Theresa was sure that it was her only option. Theresa visited Jared in the hospital, where she promised her intended that she still loves him and wants to marry him. Jared was worried about Ethan. "Ethan is my past and you're my future," she assured and kissed him. Jared vowed to get the memory stick back for Theresa, but she told him that she didn't need it anymore. Theresa announced that she wanted to marry Jared in the hospital that day.

Nurse Stevens reported to Julian that she'd switched the IV bags as planned, but left out the fact that she'd mixed the bags up. Apparently, Fox had gotten the real thing, because he was nauseated and throwing up. Kay gave him a pep talk and then went to get ice chips. She ran into Miguel, who was disgusted by the lengths Fox would go to fake it. He insisted Fox wasn't sick. "His father snuck him a hot pepper or something," he snarled. Then he suggested Julian paid someone off to switch the bags. Migs swore he would fight for her and that she knew he wasn't "the green-eyed monster he's making me out to be." When she threatened to call security, he insisted she was running from the truth, not him. She finally said, "Take love out of this. What about trust?" Miguel went on a tirade about Fox, but was interrupted by the sound of Fox puking. Kay rushed to his bedside.

Whitney bought Theresa's kids to her and in the elevator, Little E was raving about living with Jane and Ethan. Ethan, meanwhile, surprised Theresa with a visit. She had just gotten a message from the blackmailer, but went ahead and kissed him anyway. The kids were thrilled to find Ethan with her. Moved at seeing her family together, Theresa told Whitney she was going to ignore the blackmailer. Before taking the kids back to day care, Ethan told her, "I realized last night that you were right all along. We belong together. We're a great family — you, me, Jane, and little Ethan. Thank you." Theresa was on cloud nine, but Whitney was worried about the blackmailer. She also wondered why a gay guy would go to these lengths to get a straight guy, which made the girls consider it could be a woman. When the girls had their daily discussion about what Theresa should do, she wondered if there was a way she could have it all. Perhaps Ethan was a good enough lawyer to get them off without the Crane power. Then Pilar came in with news about Luis, who had been cornered but got away after shots were fired. She was embarrassed to admit she was now thrilled Theresa had married Alistair. "You and you alone can help your brothers from having a horrible fate," she said. Later, Pilar added, "These days, without power and money, our justice system isn't just at all."

After Luis made his getaway unscathed, he met up with Ethan and filled him in. Ethan insisted he turn himself in, but Luis was determined to find the person who framed him. He said it would take more than the Crane money and power to get him off. Ethan warned him to at least stay away from Fancy. "Why does it seem like there's always something or someone coming between us and the people we love?" Luis asked. Ethan just hoped he and Theresa were past that and Luis hoped things would go well for him too. The eavesdropping stalker muttered, "Don't bet on it, Luis, unless you want to lose." Later, Ethan reported back to Theresa and Pilar. "Whoever attacked Fancy and murdered Rae has done a first-rate job of framing Luis. The only good thing is that your brothers have you in their corner, Theresa," he said. Poor Theresa was "back to square one." She agreed to meet Ethan for dinner later, but had decided to marry Jared. After they left, she poured herself a drink and said, "I can't be with Ethan. Not at the price of my brothers' freedom."

Vincent and Chad finished a great lovemaking session, but once it was over Chad turned away from him. He told Vincent he hated him. (Imagine what he'll think when he sees the sex tape Vincent made!) When Chad said their relationship was just about sex, Vincent countered that he was only sleeping with one guy: Why not hit the bars or "order in? Boston's full of guys willing to travel to give honey for money." Chad said it was just a convenient arrangement when he'd thought he couldn't be with Whitney. Then, after insisting he wasn't gay, he turned to leave. Vincent stopped him, begging him to continue their meetings. "I don't want to threaten you," he said. "I just want to make out with you." He apologized for putting too much pressure on Chad, but after Chad left, it was clear he was just getting started. Back at work, Chad ran into Whitney, who'd been looking for him. When the elevator came, a glowing Vincent stepped out. He thanked Whitney for setting him up with Valerie and suggested they all go out to dinner.

Julian threatened Nurse Stevens's life when she tried to back out of her agreement to slip Fox a placebo instead of the treatment Kay believed he needed. Once she was back on track, he went to check on Eve and suggested they work together to find their son. She was cautious, considering his recent attitude toward her and the fact that he wanted Valerie to help, but she agreed. Both revealed to Valerie that their mistakes played a part in losing their son and Eve warned that he might not want to see him. When Valerie left, Eve told Julian, "I would make a deal with the devil himself if it would get me back my son. I think that's exactly what I just did." Julian apologized for his poor handling of their breakup, but also noted she played a part. Eve didn't want to get into it, so he suggested they put blame aside and focus on finding their son. Then she again referenced how cruel and hateful Julian had been during their breakup. He apologized again and she went to do her rounds. He caught her as she was leaving, as if he had something important to say, but then only wished her a nice day. "Is it possible that we could end up together after all? Maybe once we find our son?" he wondered to himself.

Conniving Fox "admitted" to Kay that he was nervous about his treatment, but agreed that it was worth any extra time it bought him with Kay and Maria. Nurse Stevens made the switch when she got his IV bag, but then Miguel bumped into her and the bags got mixed up. "The odds are one out of 13 that this is the bag with the treatment," she figured. "I gamble. I can live with that." Kay stood by as the drip began and promised to distract Fox, while a surprised Miguel watched from the hall. Fox suggested they have sex before he became impotent, but suddenly felt nauseated.

Whitney called Chad and nagged him about leaving her to wake to an empty bed. He blamed work, but was actually at his seedy love nest, where Vincent had left him a DVD with footage of them making out. Chad was ready to leave but then his tardy lover arrived. Insistent on ending things, Chad got "all riled up," which got Vincent hot. They started kissing, but Chad pushed him away. Vincent said he couldn't let Chad go and tried to stop him, so Chad took a swing. The fighting couple fell onto the bed. Chad held him down, but Vincent insisted they both loved each other. "You can go on without me for a few days, but then you'll start thinking about us again," he said. A tearful Chad begged him to stop, but Vincent won. They fell into kissing and had sex, which Vincent caught on tape.

Fugitive Luis was drinking and hacking into Crane security, with Theresa's okay. When he and Ethan caught up over the phone, he apologized for making Ethan's job harder by escaping custody and revealed he had a lead on where the acid was purchased. He put on a Clark Kent-esque disguise, went to Harington's Hardware and asked to see the store's ledger, using a phony story. The storekeeper found the listing for the one person who'd bought hydrochloric acid recently and it was Luis Lopez Fitzgerald! The storekeeper added that he'd checked the buyer's ID. After Luis learned he'd also bought duct tape and had a skeleton key copied, Chief Bennett's voice announced that he was surrounded. The storekeeper pulled his shotgun out and said he'd called the cops.

Theresa told Whitney that her blackmailer was now forcing her to marry Jared because she'd slept with Ethan the night before. Unfortunately, her romp with her true love had only convinced her that he's the one. Whitney was excited to hear all about her girlfriend's exploits, but the two were soon back to worrying about the blackmailer and Theresa's brothers. Theresa worried she'd never get to be with Ethan.
