PASSIONS Recaps Week of January 22, 2007Friday, January 26, 2007 Sheridan and Fancy continued feuding at the hospital. "When I get through this, my first order of business will be to show Luis how evil you are," Fancy promised, but Sheridan was sure the rape kit would just prove "beyond a shadow of a doubt" that Fancy was crazy. When she went in for the test, Sheridan worked on Luis, who felt guilty for leaving Fancy defenseless. He had a blurry flashback of making out with cheerleader Fancy, but couldn't make sense of it. The masked man was watching and whispered, "It was me on the couch with you Luis, not Fancy." Sheridan told Luis she suspected Fancy's story wasn't true. Then she caressed him, saying he was "the bravest, most caring man I've ever known." Fancy and Chris didn't like walking in on that! When Fancy and Luis decided to await her test results, Chris pulled Sheridan aside and called his wife on her feelings for Luis. She swore she was thrilled for Luis and Fancy. Then Fancy's lab results came in. She was vindicated when the doctor said she'd been raped and relieved to hear there was a semen sample that might ID her attacker. Theresa faced a shell-shocked Ethan. She was thrilled to hear Gwen had left without Jane, but Ethan warned she would be suing for custody. When she asked to see her daughter, he went to check on Jane instead. "Whitney, he's accepting his marriage is over," Theresa said with hope in her voice, but Whit urged her to go forward with her plan to send Ethan and Gwen away and save her relationship with Jared. When Ethan got back, Whit left them to talk. He apologized for the bed-sleeping incident and assumed she wouldn't forgive him. Then, before she could tell him her plan, he told her that he loved her. "The truth is, I was in a fog tonight, but you know what? I ended up exactly where I wanted to be — and that was right with you, in your bed." Apologetic Ethan bared his soul and Theresa started to fold. (Gwen's destroyed wedding ring sure tested her resolve!) She accepted his apology and then set up her big plan. "It's bad," she previewed.
Jared, meanwhile, packed up his office at Crane and unloaded on Chad, who bought Ethan's story about winding up in bed with Theresa. "Maybe I would buy it too if it was the first time," Jared maintained, adding that Theresa admitted she'd always have Ethan in her heart. Chad told him to get over his ego and admit he still loved Theresa. "I love her so much it's hard for me to breathe, but I will not share her with Ethan," Jared insisted. Whitney's call interrupted them. She filled Chad in on Theresa's plan and asked her hubby to keep Jared around. Jared poured himself a stiff drink and toasted his stupidity. Chad told him not to lose hope and then got called away by his illicit lover. Jared was horrified, but Chad shrugged him off and said he was going home. Enter Valerie, who was strangely insistent that he stay with Theresa. She told him he should stay close because "something terrible's happening in Harmony."
Thursday, January 25, 2007 At the hospital, Fox remained in critical condition, while the family bickered. Sam pulled Julian off of Miguel and explained they couldn't arrest him or anyone because they were building a case. Ivy demanded Kay tell her where she was when her hubby was taken down, but Eve interrupted to ask after the bruises on Fox's body. Miguel confessed to their fight, while swearing he was innocent of the hit and run. Eve brought the attention back to Fox, who needed immediate surgery. Julian insisted on waiting for a specialist, but Eve said there was no time. Lucky for Fox, it was Kay's decision, not Julian's. Julian appealed to Kay, but Kay still believed Fox was dying, so it was just a question of whether it was worth risking the next few months. While Julian and Ivy argued about whether to tell her the truth, Chief Bennett told number one suspect Miguel to keep quiet. When Charity told Kay to pray over her decision, Kay took a moment to do that. Then she signed the release. Whitney was surprised Theresa was ready to give up on Jared, but Theresa wasn't willing to send Ethan to jail to save her relationship. Whitney believed there was another way to "end this tragic triangle once and for all," but Theresa had to give Ethan up for good to make it work. She suggested Theresa offer Ethan that job in India, even if it meant losing Jane. Theresa balked but set out for the bed and breakfast, where Gwen was railing on Ethan and Ethan was begging for forgiveness. "This triangle is never going to break unless I break it," Gwen insisted. Rebecca heard a noise in the hall, but returned to the room when Gwen broke something against the wall. Gwen was determined to leave, even if she couldn't take Jane. After a tearful goodbye with her adoptive daughter, she set out for the airport. "I don't know where I'm going," she told Ethan. "I'm just going to get on the first flight somewhere." On the road, she ran into Theresa and told her she could have Ethan. Theresa tried to share her new plan, but Gwen wasn't listening. "The best part of this whole mess is I will never have to hear your voice or see your face ever again," she shot and took off. Rebecca tried to talk her into turning around, but Gwen growled that Theresa could have him. The idea had clearly crossed Theresa's mind, but Whit thought they could still move forward with the plan. Though she hesitated, Theresa agreed and found Ethan sitting alone with his wife's broken wedding ring. "My marriage is over," he told her.
Wednesday, January 24, 2007 Gwen told Rebecca she's leaving Ethan because his heart is with Theresa. Ethan arrived and begged her not to leave. Gwen refused and insisted she can no longer compete with Theresa because she is obviously the woman in his heart. Gwen wanted to leave with Jane, but Ethan reminded her that Theresa is Jane's biological mother and retains power and control over Jane's custody. Ethan suggested that maybe they could get a court order to reclaim custody of Jane. Ethan begged for a fresh start. Gwen said she'd heard his promises to leave town for a fresh start countless times before, but nothing ever changed. Ethan begged for one final chance to make things right. Gwen declared it all too little, too late and declared their marriage over. Theresa tearfully flashed back to her break up with Jared, and then to when they made love — but she fantasized about Ethan instead. Jared vented to Chad and Whitney, and told them it's over with Theresa because he’s sick of trying to compete with Ethan. "There's not room for three people in a marriage," he declared. Whitney ran off to find Theresa while Chad asked him if breaking up with Theresa is the right thing to do. Whitney asked Theresa why she would throw away a great life with a wonderful man to condemn herself to a lifetime of hurt and pain. Theresa refused to have Ethan arrested for sexual assault because she knows he didn't mean to. She recalled how she knowingly forced herself on Ethan after she drugged him and pretended to be Gwen, yet Ethan never pressed charges against her. Chad and Chris found a masked man passed out in the closet. Fancy was ready to learn the identity of her rapist. All were shocked when the mask was pulled off of the man, revealing him to be Luis. Luis came to, and had no recollection of what happened to him. They told him that Fancy was assaulted again by a man wearing the same kind of ski mask they pulled off of Luis' face. Chris, Sheridan, Luis and Fancy tried to make sense of the situation. Luis comforted Fancy, who broke down in his arms. Fancy asked Luis where he disappeared to when she called him and needed him. A perplexed Luis said he didn't know.
Tuesday, January 23, 2007 Chad searched for Fancy's attacker, but found no one in her room — not even in the closet, where the talker had been hiding. Then Sheridan showed up with Chris. She played it sweat and nice, while making it clear Fancy was imagining things. With no proof of an intruder, it wasn't hard. Fancy told Sheridan to go pay attention to her hubby and son, instead of trying to make her look batty. Then proof showed up — a bruise came out on her face! Whit suggested they head to the hospital, but Fancy just wanted to find her attacker and prove her story. When Sheridan suggested she'd bruised herself in her sleep, Fancy insisted Luis would believe her and then realized he was missing. She guessed he was after her attacker, but security didn't know anything about it, so she went to find them herself, and everyone followed. She was unsteady on her feet, but unstoppable. When she heard a noise in the kitchen pantry, Sheridan tried to deny it. Luckily, everyone else had heard it too, so she backpedaled. The guys went to investigate and a masked body fell out the door. The group was stunned when Chris unmasked him. Theresa tried to keep Jared from pounding Ethan, and Gwen was no help. "It's all I can do to not help Jared neuter my husband," she stormed. Ethan begged his wife not to end their marriage over this, but she was over his excuses and walked out. He followed, leaving Theresa to convince Jared it wasn't assault. She blamed the champagne and insisted no one was at fault, but Jared wasn't hearing it. He called 911 and ordered her to report the crime. She finally took the phone, but only to hang it up. Then she admitted that, "somewhere, deep down, I did know it was Ethan I was making love to," but added that she "consciously thought" it was Jared. She swore she wanted to move on, but that it was complicated. When she refused to press charges, he called their engagement off and walked out the door. When Ethan caught up to Gwen, she read him the riot act and called his decision to marry her instead of Theresa a mistake. She begged him to be honest and admit that, whatever happened tonight, he loved Theresa. Her anger turned to tears when she said, "You don't need to play all strong and noble for me here. I love you. I've loved you my whole life. Ethan, being your wife was a dream come true for me, but not anymore." Ethan tried to stop her from leaving, but she knew he'd always love Theresa. She added that even if he managed to get over Theresa, he'd hurt her "so badly and so many times" that she didn't think she could ever be with him. She told him to get his head straight and not return to her unless he could promise to never break her heart again. Then she left!
Monday, January 22, 2007 Spike told Jessica's dance partner he had to pay to play, so he left. Angry Jess again accused Spike of raping Fancy. He insisted on his innocence, but added that even if he were guilty, he wasn't as bad as Ivy, Eve and Kay. Across the bar, Noah was doing shots and griping to Paloma that at least his mother hadn't survived to see his sister with Spike. They went over to check on Jessica, but most of the convo was spent bickering with Spike. Jess told them to lay off, claiming, "Spike understands me like Mom did." Noah couldn't talk any sense into her, even when he asked her what their late mother would have thought of Spike. Though Jess wasn't ready to forgive her mother for leaving her, she claimed she was going follow Grace's lead and put her hubby before her family. After she stormed off, Noah told Paloma that recent happenings made him realize what he wants — her! — and he pulled in for a kiss. Back at Tabitha's, Charity was having a strange homecoming with hostile Kay and Simone. She was surprised when Simone asked if she's slept with Miguel, but floored when they asked her about Thanksgiving. "How could I have had sex with Miguel at Thanksgiving, when I wasn't even here?" she guffawed. Then she told Kay that her last interaction with Miguel was a phone call in which he told her he was over her. Then she found out about her marriage to Fox and was even more confused, since Kay loves Miguel. Kay was convinced, since her story matched Miguel's and the forces of good hadn't beaten out Tabby's dark forces. "Could Fox really be that evil?" she wondered. Indeed! Having left Miguel writhing on the floor after their fight, the nasty Crane paced the street, plotting his next move. Then he was hit by a car! As he lay lifeless on the ground, a breathless Miguel told Kay he'd "just took care of Fox. He'll never come between us again." Gwen woke up the sleeping lovers by throwing something at the wall. A spacey Ethan couldn't figure out how he'd gotten to the mansion, while Theresa thought she was making love to Jared. Chad and Whitney came in next and did their best to keep Jared from beating "Ethan to a bloody pulp." Ethan was given a towel, since he had no clothes. He swore his confusion and innocence to Gwen, but she just rolled her eyes. Once he was dressed, Jared started in, even though Theresa swore Ethan was innocent. "You accused me of being a murderer. I'm going to prove you right. Because I'm going to kill you," he snarled and threw his first punch. Gwen was ready to cheer him on. Down the hall, meanwhile, the rapist had Fancy again. She pretended to pass out and used the element of surprise to try to escape. Too bad it didn't work. Her attacker taped her mouth shut and carried her off. When she awoke bound, gagged and under him, she called to Luis in her head. Then she somehow got her mouth untaped and called for help, interrupting the showdown in Theresa's room. Chad and Whitney went to check on Fancy, leaving the foursome to fight it out. Theresa again said she thought she was making love to Jared, so her fiancé called Ethan a sexual predator. While the guys had a stare down, Chad and Whitney found Fancy with her eyes closed. She then jumped up screaming and insisted she'd been attacked. Empathetic Whit and Chad didn't seem to believe her, because they didn't know the attacker was hiding nearby!
